An incredible morning for members of the Jamaican Community who attended Winnipeg City Hall as the flag of Jamaica was raised to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of Independence. The fact that someone of Jamaican decent hosted this event is the “cherry on top of the ice cream”. Tomorrow evening, the “WINNIPEG” sign at the Forks will be lit yellow and green in celebration.
